Practicing for an Abolitionist World: A Transnational Gathering for TJ/RJ/CA Practitioners

May 18-21, 2023 — A Virtual Convening

PLEASE DO NOT SHARE ANY OF THIS ON SOCIAL MEDIA.

Hosted by Interrupting Criminalization and Project NIA and co-organized with Just Practice Collaborative and Spring Up, this 2023 Transnational Transformative Justice Conference will take place on May 18-21, 2023. The goals of the conference are to build a virtual space where people can gather to share knowledge, deepen skills, and build connections with others who are working to prevent, interrupt and heal from violence without using the violence of policing, prisons, and punishment.

We welcome those who are actively working to build the worlds we dream — with transformative justice — without cops, punishment, militaries, border regimes, coercive psychiatry and ‘care’ facilities, and other carceral systems, to apply to join us virtually on May 18-21, 2023.

If you are actively organizing or practicing transformative justice in lands and communities around the globe, including Indigenous Nations and communities on every continent and de-centering the US and Europe, we invite you to please apply — this convening is for you.* Read our framing document for more information.

*Note: This convening is transnational and will have a limited percentage of spots open to US participants. We hope the large majority of applicants (like you) will be from outside the US and Europe.

Please review and download the application below. People are also invited to complete the application at this link via Airtable.

The application deadline is April 1st.
