Block & Build: But Make it Abolitionist

Block & Build: But Make It Abolitionist

Interrupting Criminalization co-founder Andrea J. Ritchie offers an abolitionist take on strategic frameworks  for fighting Right-wing, authoritarian, and fascist agendas and regimes.

This document provides a way to understand and situate abolitionist organizing projects and campaigns within broader multi-tendency, multi-strategy united fronts in current political contexts.

It is an invitation to consider which strategic approach(es) you are most inspired and best positioned to move forward in this moment - blocking, blunting, breaking, bridging or building -  and where you might have power, influence, and opportunities to act to move that strategy forward.

Coming Soon: This framework will be accompanied by an update to IC’s 2024 publication Mapping Community Ecosystems of Collective Care to support grassroots organizers and community members in taking local action.
